Christchurch correspondent Mary Lovell-Smith planted native mistletoe. It's not quite ready this Christmas, but it was for a good cause, and surely that's good enough for this festive season?

We have some Khaki Campbell/Indian runner cross ducks free to a good home. These are not for eating. Perfect if you have a lifestyle block. We have had these gorgeous birds as pets but it is time for a new home.

Good layers of eggs, we have a selection of ducks and drakes. We would like them to all go together if possible. Currently have about six needing a new home.

It's that lovely time of year when we start to think about gifting to others.
You may notice the Christmas Trees in Kaiapoi - at New World, The Library and at WestPac. As always, we are in need gifts for kids who would normally go without over the holidays.

Please remember the teenage/older brothers and sisters as they often get forgotten. And please donate new and quality gifts.
Each year we get sacks and sacks of poor condition preloved toys that we can not pass on. Please recycle these gifts at opshops and not under the tree. As a result we have to check all gifts and repackaged before going out, as we can not risk a child receiving something in disrepair.
Thank you for supporting us to ensure no child gets forgotten this Christmas.

The weather is, by the estimation of most, hot.
Heat affects everything, especially what you want to eat. Want a big winter roast? Probably not.
So what is best choice of warm weather kai? Let us know if we missed out any options and as always, we hope to use your comments in our conversations … View moreThe weather is, by the estimation of most, hot.

For us I'd like to recognise the many Volunteer Interviewers who staff three branches and two satellites in Christchurch. Hours and hours of time are given to helping others and commitments to continued training and development. Thank you, thank you, thank you

I'm technologically challenged at the best of times ! I don't have a smart tv nor do I have a freeview box. I do however have a Xbox 360. To be able to watch tv, can I use this Xbox or do I need to get a smart tv or freeview box ? Any advice will be appreciated 😊
