The Current and Proposed Project Proponents Workshop.
held at the Burwood Christian Centre, 52-54 Bassett Street Thursday the 2 July 7pm to 8:30 pm
Hosted by AvON (Avon-Otakaro Network) Vision Strategic Development & Advocacy.
Our plan for the evening is to break up into smaller groups to workshop some key questions that have come out of the forum and communities workshops relating to getting projects up and running in the current environment. Then share the ideas as a larger group, hopefully coem away with some action items to follow up.
Background:
A Forum was held on what Council have to say about new capital work programme in the red zones
www.facebook.com...
And out of these 2 workshops came
1. To talk about the work in the River Corridor and the announcement of the Landing and Bridges
2. to talk about Current and Proposed Project Proponents along the River Corridor.
www.facebook.com...
Have a look at the forum video - first facebook link,
If your interested in getting involved with a project here in Avondale or in our wider East area, I urge you to come along with me and join in.
I can also provide you with written notes from the Forum and Workshop 1 if you'd like them - Please ask
A hoping we can get a few from Avondale who'd like to come, come.
I will be going, so if anyone needs a ride, also please get intouch

Upcycling is the term used for taking a preloved item and transforming it - whether it's for a new purpose altogether, or just to give it an ‘extreme makeover'. Consider using the school holidays to get Upcycling with the smaller members of your household - or use the next rainy day to drag out the paint and your creativity!
In the meantime, check out some of the creative cookies from last year.

This issue is packed with good reads and amazing offers from our friends and partners. We take a close look at urban farmer Freeman Farms, and visit an Auckland coastal garden that the owner waited three long decades to create as well as a Dunedin garden where they’ve grown flowers for nearly 50 years. We're still on the hunt for our Houseplant Hero, thanks to our friends at Yates and Kings Plant Barn. Nominations are now open for our 2020 Ryman Healthcare Gardener of the Year too! There’s a feature on walnut growers in NZ, highlights of new roses coming out this year and of course, details on how to get yourself $20 worth of free bulbs from NZ Bulbs.
