Come along and meet five of NZ’s Rio 2016 Paralympians at the event. Triple Paralympian, Para sailor Andrew May (Atlanta 1996, Sydney 2000 and Rio 2016) will return for the event in his home town and will be joined by double bronze medallist, 17-year-old sprint sensation William Stedman and Rio 2016 debutant, javelin thrower Caitlin Dore. This Cantabrian trio will be accompanied by Rio 2016 silver and bronze medallists, tandem Para cycling pairing of Emma Foy from Dargaville and Laura Thompson from the Catlins.
The Open Days have been developed and jointly staged with our major partner ACC. The Open Days are designed to increase interest and participation in community sport activities run by Parafeds, National Sports Organisations and disability sport organisations. It also gives us the opportunity to spot talent that could move into a pathway focussed on developing future Paralympians

As mentioned in the givealittle we have had a $17,000 vet bill for January and am asking if anyone can donate a little monies to the cause. Every $5 + you donate to givealittle (they will provide a receipt) where you can claim back 30% in your year end tax calculation. Small donations by a lot of people all add up to a lot. This is the silly kitten session and hence costs are always high at this time.
We are busy collecting free fruit and jars and making jams/chutney's and fresh tomato and plum sauce to sell at our stalls and making crafts (custions and cat beds etc) with donated goods. So we are trying to fundraise anyway we can with lots of volunteer support.
We will have a stall at the Sumner Market this Sunday the 12th and the Halswell Market on the 26th so would love to see you.
I have attached two recent articles about what we do and how we help stray cats and the resulting kittens that come from unsprayed animals.
Any questions please go to our website or pm me and ask.

The visit of Santiago-based Edith Fischer, protege of Claudio Arrau – renowned as one of the supreme keyboard masters of the century – and her husband Jorge Pepi-Alos, is being hailed as a "very important event", especially for the musical and cultural life of the city.
Fischer has played under the direction of some of the greatest conductors of these times, notably with Erich Kleiber, Paul Ketzski, Sir John Barbirolli among other distinguished directors.
She has also performed at festivals such as Salzburg, Gstaad, Montreal, Stresa, Paris and Flanders.
Pepi-Alos, composer and professor at the University of Chile, studied piano with Fischer and attended the Menuhin Academy in Gdstaad (chamber music). He went on to co-found the Bionay chamber music festival with Fischer. Pepi-Alos went on to win a series of illustrious international prizes.
The couple were invited to Christchurch by dazzling young pianist and composer Tony Chen Lin, who has been regularly invited to perform as young guest artist at the 'Semaine Internationale de Piano et de musique de chambre' in Bionay, Switzerland by festival founder and mentor Edith Fischer.
"This will be a rare opportunity to witness two world-class musicians in performance and working with young New Zealand talent," Lin said.
The couple will give piano master classes in the chamber at The Piano: Centre for Music and Arts on Sunday February 26. 1pm- 6pm. Admission is free.
On Monday, February 27, Fischer and Pepi-Alos will perform in The Piano's concert hall at 7.30pm, the works of Schumann, Brahms, Ravel, VillaLobos, Jenny McLeod, and Pepi-Alos. Adults $30, students $10.
