Tai Chi is an internal martial art, which means using internal Qi (energy) to perform the movement. Therefore Tai Chi is Qigong (exercise with energy), and also martial art.
Tai Chi promotes centering and harmony – a blending of the inner and outer, the mind and body, feminine and masculine.
Regular practice creates more strength, flexibility, balance, grace, will power, energy, serenity and well-being.
The class is broken up with Qigong theory and sort meditation.

Qigong means exercise with energy (Qi). It is an ancient holistic Chinese therapy, great for healing and also an advanced preventative natural medicine.
It is the foundation to Tai Chi, but relatively simpler than Tai Chi.
We gather the universal energy (Qi) to nourish our body, mind and spirit and increase our energy.
The gentle flowing meditative movement and secret sounds improve our health, pelvic floor muscles, core, spine, flexibility, posture, immunity, organs, relaxation and inner joy.
Qigong can also release PMT, hay fever, stress and anxiety, heal back pain and lessen arthritis.
The class is broken up with Qigong theory and sort meditation.

But we're increasingly becoming aware that buying a $20 t-shirt that won't last the distance isn't that great for the environment.
While some of us are pledging to only buy second hand or to invest in statement pieces - more expensive items that will last a long time- not all of us have that luxury.
We're wanting to speak to someone who isn't giving up their fast fashion any time soon, whether it's for economic or style reasons, personal choice or indifference to the environment. Maybe you're a student who likes the choice chain store fashion brings, or perhaps you're a parent whose children are growing too fast to risk splashing out on expensive clothing.
If this sounds like you, please email kelly.dennett@stuff.co.nz.
