❌ 1. Never light fireworks in dry or windy conditions.
🔥 2. Only use fireworks in wide open areas, away from flammable items such as trees, grasses, gas tanks, and wood.
💦 3. Keep a bucket of water or hose nearby.
👧 4. Children should never light fireworks themselves and need to be supervised closely at all times.
🧰 5. Keep all unlit fireworks in a secure bag or container away from any source of fire until they are ready to be used.
📞 6. Be considerate and let neighbours know if you're planning to set off fireworks. Aim to finish at a reasonable time.
🐱 7. Keep pets comfortable and secure inside. The loud booms and flashing lights can easily scare them off.
🐮 8. Avoid lighting off fireworks around farm animals and be aware of any newborns or elderly neighbours who may also be affected. If possible, change locations to somewhere that minimises any disturbances.
🌿 9. Be a tidy Kiwi and let's work together to keep New Zealand beautiful! Clean up any any rubbish and leave your spot better than you found it.
After this burst of sunshine gardens will be looking wonderful and flowers blooming - have you got your Pukaha Garden Tour ticket yet? Tour is on this weekend - come and get your ticket from either the Masterton or Martinborough i-SITEs.

The 49-year-old’s third win in a fortnight came in four-man final in which there were two heir apparents who were yet to be born when Kirkpatrick had his first Open final win 25 years ago, also at the Wairarapa show.
The Hawke’s Bay gun has now had at least 183 wins in the top class, including 8 in the Wairarapa final, while runner-up David Gordon, of Masterton, and fourth-placed Paraki Puna, of Napier, had had had just one Open final appearance between them.
They reached the final after the surprise semi-final eliminations of 2019 New Zealand team members Cam Ferguson, of Waipawa, and David Buick, of Pongaroa.

Sending Love is about people and communities coming together to make a festive gesture towards another person who may experience loneliness over Christmas. It is one person putting love and thought into a card to pass a smile and a sense of feeling remembered and loved onto another person. It is not an organization, or a charity; Sending Love is a platform and vehicle to enable sending love from one individual to another. It is an avenue to teach communities and children about the power of a simple act of kindness, and the impact this can have on the recipient. It is also about raising awareness in communities across the country of what may be behind closed doors, the sad reality of the loneliness that exists around us all, and that each and every one of us are empowered and have the capacity to be part changing that.
Just a friendly reminder that Christmas is fast approaching and we will be collecting cards again this year for those who may be alone over Christmas.
Drop boxes will be set up to collect your cards ( places to be advised).
Last year over 900 cards were collected in the Wairarapa and distributed to local Rest homes, Hospitals etc
You can check out Sending Love on Facebook or at
sendinglove.co.nz
Thank you in advance
