The flowers are a deep dark plum colour. I tried to buy one like it at one stage without any success, but I propogated this one from a known bush.
Lilacs are wind resistant, frost is no problem , are deciduous, grow in almost any soil, and in the Spring produce large blooms made up of myriads of little flowers with an amazing perfume.

Following the installation of the temporary above ground pipe, we now need to install a permanent underground pipe which means excavating from the Dixon/Willis intersection along Willis Street to State Highway 1 near Ghuznee Street.

On Monday 13 January 2020 we will start site investigations, locating service in the road and trenching along Willis Street. Pedestrian access along both sides of Willis Street will remain the same.

We are holding a community meeting next week, where we would like to invite businesses owners and residents to discuss the project work. We will have a project engineer, council representatives and local councillors available to answer any questions you may have.

The details for the community meeting are:
Tuesday 14 January, 5.30pm - Conference Centre, St John’s in the City.

Updates on this project will be available at: www.wellingtonwater.co.nz...

I have pictured just a few of the irises I have ready to go.
I have a catalog of photos of other irises available.
$10.00 for each rhizome, dug, trimmed and labelled. Comes with instructions.

Bearded iris are spectacular in their flowering season with their talk flower spikes displaying up to 12 blooms per spike, and they provide good structure in the garden with their pointed grey green leaves through the rest of the year.
They are frost resistent and love sunbathing with their rhizomes sitting on top of the soil and anchor roots going down.
I have dwarf irises about 30cm high, ( $8.00 each) Median irises about 60 cms ($10.00 each) and tall irises ( $10.00 each) which grow to a metre high.
Irises like good drainage and about 5 or more hours sun a day.
Easy to grow and they multiply up into spectacular clumps.

These irises are conditioned to the Wairarapa climate and should do well.

Pickup is in Kuripuni.
