Small businesses are vital to the recovery of our economy.

During the Covid-19 restrictions, business owners have shown initiative, hard work and resilience to keep afloat.

But many have been hit hard.

Lack of clarity about just how heavy the toll of the restrictions have been on individual businesses and their ability to quickly rebound adds to the uncertainty of the national economic recovery.

Therefore, Prosper is launching a survey targeted at finding out the scale of Covid-19's impact.

You can take that survey right now – it will only take a few minutes.

I just want to ask that you watch out for the pheasants that we have hand reared. They are out and about around Norfolk Road and several people have told us how much they enjoy seeing them. They are young birds and if they turn up at your place they are probably looking for something to eat. There are two different breeds and we'd really appreciate help protecting them. Thanks.

Releasing water

This may look like a waste of water, but it’s sometimes better to release a little bit out rather than turn off water to the whole street.

And observe the Below Government instructions

At Alert Level 2 public venues (e.g. museums, libraries, cinemas, gyms, swimming pools, amusement parks, and farmers’ markets) can open, if they can do so safely.

There is no numeric limit on how many people can be in a public venue at any given time. However, they will need to put measure in place so that:

different groups can keep at least 1 metre distance from each other, and

a contact tracing register is kept.

If the public venue is very large or wide spread (for example a farmers market), and contact tracing isn’t practicable, it’s still OK to operate as long as different groups can keep at least 2 metre distance from each other during their interactions.

With more people returning to work and school in Level 2, we wanted to remind people that since water hasn't been running as frequently through the taps, it's a good idea to run your taps to flush out the system when you return to work.

When left alone in your pipework for an extended period, water can become stagnant and while it's still safe to drink, it may taste unpleasant, so it’s a good idea to run the tap for a while to make sure you have fresh drinking water.
