Message from Capital Journeys:
A northbound passing lane south of the summit on SH2 Remutaka Hill will be closed day and night for 2 weeks while contractors retrieve the container, its items and the trailer from the recent fatal crash.

We anticipate the closure of one lane combined with a temporary 50km/h speed restriction both north and southbound in this area will be a minor inconvenience for most traffic.

However, road users should travel with caution through the area because of the visual distraction and likelihood of trucks entering and exiting a retrieval site at the northern end of the passing lane.

Day/night northbound passing lane closure and temporary speed restriction – dates and place

. Day and night starting 7pm Sunday night 21 November to 5pm Friday 3 December.

. The 200m northbound passing lane starts 1.7km south of the summit. RP SH2-931/1.7-1.5

. The left-hand northbound lane will be closed. Traffic will use the right-hand northbound lane.

. A 50km/h speed restriction will operate in both directions north and south.

What’s happening?

. Two retrieval sites will be established on flat land off-road to allow retrieval of items from the recent fatal crash while causing minimal disturbance to highway traffic.

. The passing lane closure will allow trucks to move in and out of the off-road retrieval site situated near its northern end.

. A second off-road retrieval site near the start of the passing lane will not have access to the road. All movements here will be via a track cut between the two sites.

What should drivers be aware of?
. Off-road retrieval activities may be a distraction to drivers.

. Site trucks will occasionally move in and out of the northern off-road retrieval site.

. Please be prepared to slow down as you approach the area.

Hi guys

We have put a lot of heart, soul, and money into setting up Urban Fresh Farms.

Its a viable business that has been making great progress every month since we started in late 2019.
It is extremely rewarding growing something from nothing and being able to provide a good food source to our local community, chefs and NZ as a whole.

We started out with the vision of community, better food, thoughts of what the world will look like for our children and wanting them to have a more sustainable future.

Unfortunately we just don't have the financial resources to push through the next few months.
I have been running another IT business and working with Barbs on the mushroom side of things and have been slowly burning out over the past 12 months. Its tough with a small family and working to keep our head above water as well as grow a viable business.

We started with nothing and have created something truly amazing and it would be sad to see it dissolve into nothing.

We are hopeful to find someone willing to take over the business that sees the potential and hard work we have put in. Its just a matter of getting through the next few months and to continue to expand.

If you know someone interested in either investing in a potential partnership or buying our small enterprise please get in touch with us.

"I was just thinking that after such a busy week, I needed to get some nature related well-being but it just started pouring! However there is always something to see on our back yard.
Not only did our resident wonky legged Blackbird bring along his offspring to feed juicy worms from our lawn, but a pair of California quails paid us a visit too and enjoyed a good peck around our lawns. Old Wonky legged had a beautiful juicy worm to feed his young but it kept falling out of it's mouth...
Never a dull moment! Awesome to be able to capture all this!"

"I've recently adopted the most adorable older gentleman cat from Cats Protection Wellington. I'd really like to have Sir William McFloof in the weekly pet section to show how gorgeous and special he is, but also to highlight the wonderful and important work that CPW does.
CPW take cats that come from broken homes, who have owners who pass away or can't/don't want to care for them anymore :( They have them checked by the vet and if they are older and have health issues like William, they are placed in a foster care programme. This amazing programme means William's medical care is looked after by CPW and I care for his other needs and give him a warm home and lots of love.
William has cardiomyopathy, which is a hardening of the heart walls. I don't know how long I'll have with him, but every moment is so special. He is a very loving and chatty cat. He trots around everywhere with me, talking loudly about life. He is great company. We think he has some Maine Coon in him - these above personality traits and the heart condition are common in MC cats. He also has the cutest huge paws!
Having William as pet of the week would show how gorgeous he is and that it's a wonderful thing to give an older kitty love and safety in their last years."

Remember if you want your pet featured on Neighbourly, email us on yourpet@dompost.co.nz with a recent photo. Please remember to say which suburb you live in.

Kiwis are now able to download their Covid vaccination certificate, called 'My Vaccine Pass'.

Anyone who is fully vaccinated can request a pass by visiting mycovidrecord.nz or by calling 0800 222 478. The vaccine pass can be downloaded as an image on your phone, added to Apple Wallet or Google Pay, or printed out as a hard copy.

Covid-19 Minister Chris Hipkins has asked people to be patient and request their passes over the next few days, as the website has already seen an overwhelming demand since it was launched this morning.

Passes will not be required to access essential businesses such as schools, supermarkets, or pharmacies, but more details on how they will be implemented are expected to be outlined in the press conference at 1pm today.

What you need to know:

• You can request a vaccine pass at mycovidrecord.nz or by calling 0800 222 478.
• If you don't receive an email with your pass within 24 hours, email the My Covid Record team on help@mycovidrecord.min.health.nz or call 0800 222 478. Check your spam folder first.
• The pass will be required later this year to enter some businesses and venues.
• There are separate passes you can request for domestic use and international travel.
