To help get your extra row underway Yates is lending a helping hand.

If you last made a will back in the days of cassette tapes and telethons, it may be time for an update.

"Yesterday I was doing my usual stalking of the backyard birds with my camera behind my washing line as they were flying in for their daily feed of the seed that I had just thrown on the lawn and wondered why they just suddenly all flew off in all directions! What had scared them off was the sight of this magnificent but rotound feline lurking quite near by.

She is very much a Jeckyll and Hyde character, very friendly when she is tucked up with me at night and just loves having her belly rubbed. But outside she runs away when approached and totally disappears when friends or family drop in for a coffee!"

We wouldn’t change her for the world!Remember if you want your pet featured on Neighbourly, email us on yourpet@dompost.co.nz with a recent photo. Please remember to say which suburb you live in.

Check out the two events on Saturday 23 October at the Anzac Hall, 62 Bell Street, Featherston from 11am.
Rick Gekoski, a firm favourite with book festival audiences and his many readers, will entertain in fine style, as he shares stories of his years working in the rare book trade. Local writer and broadcaster Noelle McCarthy will strap in to travel with Rick through his life and times, discussing people he’s met, books he’s discovered, read and written, and dragons he’s slain.

Next up it’s time to saddle up as John Hellemans elaborates on the details of his hilarious cycling adventures during the 2018 Tour Aotearoa in his book A Biker’s Tale. No matter the travails of the day as he rode the 3000 km from Cape Reinga to Bluff, each day he hammered away at his laptop. As well as allowing him to make sense of all that passed through his mind during his day of pedalling, that labour resulted in A Biker’s Tale – a book the Kiwi cycling pioneers, the Kennett Brothers, have called “a must-read for casual and serious bikers alike.”

Details here: www.eventfinda.co.nz... You can buy tickets at the Masterton and Martinborough i-SITEs
