According to findings, the more you drink before bed, the more pronounced these effects. REM sleep happens about 90 minutes after we fall asleep. It's the stage of sleep when people dream, and it's thought to be restorative. Disruptions in REM sleep may cause daytime drowsiness, poor concentration, and rob you of needed ZZZs.
Alcohol may seem to be helping you to sleep, as it helps induce sleep, but overall it is more disruptive to sleep, particularly in the second half of the night if taken repeatedly.
Alcohol also suppresses breathing and can cause sleep apnea," or breathing pauses that occur throughout the night.
Studies prove that using alcohol as a sleeping aid can result in insomnia in the long run. However a drink or two here and there taken in a moderate quantity is of no harm.

Hostas die down to ground level over the winter, come into lush growth in the Spring and throw up flower spikes in the Summer.
This Hosta has variegated cream and pale green leaves . I have had it growing over many years and it is a consistent strong plant in the garden. Gives a cushiony feel to the garden. It wont grow more than a third of a metre high.
This Hosta in the photo, can be left in its pot for years or you could slip it out of its pot into a partly shady or shady area , dampish perhaps, but they really are quite hardy plants.
It is growing in a large 24cm pot and the pot comes with the plant. 🥹😀

This year alone he has planted an additional 6000 bulbs from 35 varieties this year,! Make sure you see this display at the Longbush Cottage Tulip Festival next weekend - Saturday and Sunday, 1 - 2 October, 10am-4pm. Tickets are just $10 from Eventfinder (or come into either the Masterton or Martinborough i-SITE Visitor Centres) or $15 at the gate - Eftpos and cash available onsite at the Tulip Festival.
