After retiring she decided that she would spend some of her spare time volunteering when she saw the Amitabha Hospice advertisement needing volunteers to help people in their community.
Having completed the training course, attending weekly evening classes for 6 weeks, Anne now visits two Amitabha Hospice patients every week, spending a few hours chatting and helping them in many ways. She considers them both friends rather than her patients and says the ‘best aspect of volunteering is the friendship that is established - always people.’

This long-standing project got the green light in May 2019. The change rooms at Grey Lynn Park were due for an upgrade including the development of new change rooms and toilets and the demolition of the old athletics building. Our local board provided direction to the concept design which was consulted on with the Richmond Rovers Rugby League Club

- Drivers of heavy vehicles and motorcyclists are advised to travel via the Western Ring Route (State Highways 16 and 18).
