The vaccine was on average 70 per cent effective in foiling the disease, according to results from phase three trials.
It’s unknown yet whether New Zealand was in the line for this vaccine.
But New Zealand has already signed two agreements for other vaccines- the Pfizer and BioNTech vaccine along with the vaccine from Janssen Pharmaceutica.
Qantas chief executive officer Alan Joyce on Monday night said vaccination would be mandatory for passengers.
“We are looking at changing our terms and conditions to say that for international travellers, we will ask people to have a vaccination before they can get on the aircraft,” he said.

What a treat to have heritage sewing and textile experts Gracie Matthews (and her ten antique Singer babies - all with names and personalities of their own) guiding visitors though the sewing process and Megan Mills teaching crochet with 'granny squares'.
Two of each workshops were held in the morning and afternoon, with a spot of tea & scones enjoyed by everyone on the sunny verandah overlooking the garden. Scroll through the photos to get a glimpse of the day.
Due to popular demand and highly limited places, a second crafty day has been scheduled on Sunday 29 November! Crochet classes now booked out but there are still places for the sewing workshop at 10:30 and a 2nd at 1:30pm will be scheduled if there is enough interest.Tickets $60. I thought this might interest a dog owner out there, who has to leave their dog at home during the day.
I am looking to do the Unitec 1 year course for Canine Behavior and Training next year, with the aim of going into dog training in the future, which is a passion of mine. I don't currently own a dog, and need one to complete the course. It involves bringing a dog twice a week during the day, where I will be learning and applying training techniques. The campus is in Mt Albert.
Would anyone be interested in me taking their dog to my course twice a week next year. It would basically be free training and daytime entertainment for your dog, so should be mutually beneficial! The dog must be between 1.5 - 7 years old and ideally live near Mt Albert or Pt Chev (so I could collect and return on the 2 days). Dog must also be vaccinated, and spayed/neutered is ideal.
Please comment or flick me a message if interested.
Thanks very much,
Eliza.

It’s a delightful story of our kai moana and the whakatauki ‘He waka eke noa. We are all in this together.’
This innovative, cutting edge concept features 40+ glow-in-the-dark puppets under UV lights in a black box theatre environment. 15,000+ children saw the extraordinary Matariki Glow Show in 2017/18 and 25,000+ children saw it in 2019. The ALL NEW Te Moana Glow Show is a must-see for 2020!
The production was created by puppet designer/creator Sarah Burren who collaborated with composer/musical director Midge Perez. They have an impressive history, having worked together on 20 children’s shows. Sarah has been involved in the concept/design/production of over 100 stage shows and live events both in NZ and internationally. They sought the guidance and approval of kaumātua Dr Haare Williams (amorangi in arts, culture and education) to create a story that ignites the spirit and pride of our tamariki.
Recommended for ages 2 – 10. This production is suitable for special needs children.
“If Matariki Glow Show is a small child’s first experience of theatre, then they will be very lucky. A fun and entertaining feast with a wonderful contemporary story of Aotearoa.” - Cate Prestidge (Theatreview) 2019
