At Alert Level 1, everyone can return without restriction to work, school, sports and domestic travel, and you can get together with as many people as you want.

One new case of Covid-19 in the community has been announced.

The new case is linked to the existing community cases and is already in quarantine, the Ministry of Health said on Monday.

There are six new cases in managed isolation, four of which are historical.

Gold Dust

I held for a moment in time
A sprinkle of gold dust in my hand
Pure in form and heart
A little piece of me, soon to journey this land

Time has passed quickly
Her gold dust has started to spread
And lately, not that long ago
She started plans to leave the nest

I held for a moment in time
A sprinkle of gold dust in my hand
And now as I blow it gently off
I give credit to my parents, because now I understand.

To all the parents who have had a young man or woman leave home to start their Uni journey xx

This year is the year of recovery from COVID-19, the economic impact and hit on Council revenue was real. Auckland Council is forecast to take a 1 billion dollar revenue hit because of COVID-19.

This 10-year budget aims to find a balance between investing in our city and not overburdening our residents.

It will provide for our city’s future while keeping our rates increases low compared to other growth cities in New Zealand, will help Auckland’s economy recover, support our communities, build water and housing infrastructure and improve our transport network.

We need your feedback on these issues and how we pay for them.

I've heard that there have been people & some children wondering where he is and if he's still alive. I'm please to say that yes, he is still in fine fettle, now 12 years old (was 3mths old when he came to West End) and living full time up at our farm in Waipu. He's still the adventure goat and has been making a few appearances at the local A&P shows, hiking and bushwalking along with the odd day at the beach too. Masport for a time had another adoptee rescue Wild Beanie (see before and after photo...yes it is the same goat) stay with us at West End while he adjusted from a life on the run at Mt Wellington's Hamlin Hill, learning to trust people and underwent quarantine at West End before everyone moved to the farm. He was in a shocking state but as you can see now is quite the magnificent boy. Wild Beanie is absolutely besotted with Masport and follows him around all day. Since moving up to the farm we have had another 10 critically endangered Arapawa goats join us and they are all living their best life free ranging on 12 acres doing what goats do, play, gobble and just be a goat. So dont worry, Masport is fine and well and may from time to time turn up in Westmere as he continues his work as a Therapy Pet and documents his adventures around New Zealand.

This year's event runs from March 20 - 30th with the theme being 'The Great Plant Swap' as an easy way for neighbourhoods to grow stronger together.

Here's some ideas for ways you could get involved:

• swap seeds with a neighbour
• gift a plant you've grown to a neighbour
• take some flowers to a neighbour
• organise a produce swap
• share garden tips or recipes for food in season
• create community gardens or berm pollinator pathways
• host an inclusive garden-themed working bee
• a friendly neighbourhood BBQ with homegrown ingredients

The options are endless! At the end of the day, our shared aim is to help bring people together by encouraging intentional connection with our neighbours. Whether that be organising a street party, sharing a cuppa, or simply saying ‘Kia Ora!” to those who live around you, every action helps to create a safer and more connected New Zealand.
