There will be an opening event on Saturday the 12th between 5-8pm and a fashion show at 6:30 put on by the Auckland Air Krakens. The Auckland Air Krakens are a 'Steampunk group' who will come in full costume. It is free and everyone is welcome.

If you've noticed a missed call from a number you don't recognise (particularly international numbers), it is important that you don't call this number back and consider reporting this as a potential scam.
Phone companies are advising customers to reject these calls and if you have friends or family living overseas, it is recommended to have their numbers added as contacts in your mobile phone, so you can identify when they are calling you.

A Controlled Area Notice also applies to areas (not just tracks) of the Hunua Ranges. Theses notices have been declared under Section 131 of the Biosecurity Act 1993.
Visitors into the Waitākere and Hunua Ranges have to scrub all visible soil from footwear and equipment and use all cleaning stations along the tracks as per instructions.
*Note, tracks may be under video surveillance.
