I thought that I would share this one with you all here.
It really is a great idea.
We've all been measured as a child against the door frame, and we've measured our children but ... I wish I had known this little gem.
Measure them and write next to the measurement what they want to be when they grow up.

Hi Neighbours,

West Auckland's Lincoln Road is not only home to more than 34 fast food restaurants, it's also within walking distance of seven local schools.

Without doubt, this is a food environment that needs to change and Minister of Health, Dr David Clark, clearly agrees.

He is keen for more regulation of fast food advertising and has been talking to the Food Industry Task Force about what changes can be made.

But Henderson Intermediate deputy principal Debbie Wylde says it's hard to compete with the fast-food options when trying to encourage students to make the healthier choice with their money.

So, I have gone down to the airport a couple of times this week and the first time, I wasn't sure if my eyes weren't playing tricks on me.
So a second visit was required to confirm the horrible truth.
The BEAUTIFUL and STUNNING Pohutukawas are being chopped down.
Then I saw the rest of them with orange markers to be next in line for the chainsaw, including the Kauris - WTH???
So, straight onto the Auckland City Council who were absolutely surprised that this was happening.
You would think that they would have immediate access to a database of sorts that has all the relevant permits allocated in cases like this.
The two ladies I spoke to were just as surprised as I was, but they couldn't see anything.
So I was put through to the Regional Specialists & Planning Help desk (RS&P help desk), - no one there. In fact according to the message I should call back on another hour - not sure which hour I should call back - haha
I decided to leave all my contact details to pass onto the invisible RS&P help desk and get them call me back if required.
But, I am still absolutely gobsmacked at all this unnecessary slaughter of our beautiful New Zealand Christmas trees, our ever diminishing native trees GONE!
Now, all the tourists coming out of the airport will have the thrill of looking at all of those stumps!!

Sadly, this story is one now of so many of the severe dangers of vaping!!
It shouldn't just be something that is happening in the U.S., because it's not.
This story should be a wake up call for the extreme dangers of vaping.
The unknown chemicals and additives are far more toxic and deadly than 'normal' cigarettes. I am not condoning smoking in any form, but in this instance, it's the lesser of two evils.
The second hand smoke from vaping is just as dangerous for the passer by as it is for the smoker of the said vape cigarette.
It's harder to walk around a huge cloud from the vape cigarette. We've all seen them escaping from car windows, pedestrians walking down the street, in the car parks in the mall - EVERYWHERE!!!
People are giving up smoking cigarettes to a nastier & more toxic option, and all under the misleading advertising of each of the e-cigarette companies that this is the healthier option to help people give up smoking - which is absolutely FALSE!!!
