The vote passed 5 in favour; 3 against.
The Notice of Motion was signed and supported by myself, Danielle Grant Anne-Elise Smithson, Adrian Tyler and Paula Gillon.
A copy of the decision will now be sent to the other 20 local boards for their consideration and I hope that they will join us in putting pressure on Auckland Transport.
Attached is the full Notice of Motion, with information on how Auckland Transport has the ability to delegate powers to local boards, although for the last 9 years it has chosen not to.

If they could paint over it and make it a clear straight ahead through the roundabout anytime (to merge with traffic coming from Lake road on northcote road), it would solve a lot of congestion on Ocean view in the mornings, and also stop the rat runners using Potter ave back down onto Lake road to jump the queues in the mornings too which happens a lot (as they can presently skip round the backstreets then get right of way at the roundabout with the steady stream of morning traffic, so ocean view just backs up indefinitely).

I'm wondering if anyone can verify whether or not the items we carefully separate out to put in the recycling bin are actually recycled? The man pulled into their driveway after the children, put his lights on full-beam, reversed and fled. The mother also believed the same van pulled into their driveway again during the night. Police say they are aware of series of suspicious approaches in the Belmont area and are making inquiries.
What do you tell your children about stranger danger? Have your children been chased or followed by strange cars recently? Let us know in the comments.
