Just on a side note, this is also perfect for the elderly and anyone incapacitated. My friend who fosters severely handicapped children, has done this with all of her foster children and they absolutely love it and have thrived so much.
With technology moving faster than ever now, how about donating your iPods to a family member or a friend to make a personalised music list for their loved one.
Music and memories walk hand in hand with one another. These little iPods with a personalised play list on it, will help tap into deep memories that maybe lost and maybe for a period of time, bring them 'back to life'.
Thus, allowing them to feel like themselves again, maybe even to converse if they can and socialise while staying present.
This has to be a simple and very easy gift to give anyone who is sick or confined to their bed or wheelchair.
I was going to suggest donating them to the old folk's homes etc ... but there are (sadly) far too many light fingered people out there.

I particularly love the opening paragraph:
"Stanton Friedman died last Monday. Friedman was one of the world’s most renowned UFO researchers and passed away without ever actually seeing alien life. If only he’d lived for one more week and kept an eye on New Zealand politics then he would probably have achieved his life’s ambition."
