Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern yesterday announced alert level 3 would start from Tuesday next week, which was welcome news for thousands of people. Uber Eats would be operational in time for the lunch period next Tuesday, delivering meals to customers' doors without contact. But when exactly can you get your fast-food fill?
McDonald's
==========
McDonald's was confident the majority of its restaurants with drive-thrus would open across the country when lockdown lifts. About 130 of its 170 restaurants offered drive-thru and the company was working on providing contactless training to its 10,000 staff and ensuring further hygiene, sanitation and food-safety procedures. It was also in the process of working with its suppliers to confirm whether it could access stock and help franchisees ensure they could openly safely.
Subway
=======
All 250 Subway restaurants across New Zealand would open from Tuesday through delivery or contactless pick-up. Customers could have their meals delivered by Uber Eats and could order them off the Subway app or online.
Domino's
========
Domino's expects to open most stores for contactless delivery from Tuesday, with remaining stores opening the next day.
KFC, Pizza Hut, Taco Bell, and Carl's Jr
================================
Restaurant Brands, which operates KFC, Pizza Hut, Taco Bell and Carl's Jr, were not able to report when the restaurants would open to the public. However, a spokesperson told further information would be made available in the coming days.
Burger King
==========
Burger King was hoping to open its 83 outlets on Tuesday, it told publication Stuff. Once open, Burger King would offer drive-thru and delivery through Uber Eats.

Stabbing staff with scissors, masturbating, being drunk and having sex are just some of the reasons why 310 people were booted and banned from Auckland Council libraries in the last four years.

The majority of the trespasses were for threatening behaviour (51), abusive behaviour (41), theft (33), graffiti tagging (14) and intoxication (nine).

Five people were trespassed from several libraries for multiple offences or where serious types of offending posed significant risk to staff at other sites. Three people were banned from all libraries for offences listed in the article below.

Despite this, an Auckland Council spokeswoman said its libraries were safe and welcoming for Aucklanders wanting to connect, read and learn, and trespass notices were issued in "rare and isolated cases, with no evident patterns". Library staff were trained in conflict awareness.

She must like the smell of freshly cut grass just as much as I do!!!!!!!! 😃 OR she just likes my scent, and looks forward to when the lockdown finishes, so I can pat her again!!!!! 😃 Heheheheheh!!!!!!!! 😃 In the meantime, *ENJOY!!!!!!!!!!!!* 😃

Pharmac backtracks on plan to fund lung cancer drug Keytruda

RNZ has obtained documents showing Pharmac had planned to offer a Request for Proposals, or RFP, where drug companies are asked to pitch their products and prices, but has put that on hold due to budget constraints. Chief executive Sarah Fitt told RNZ that Pharmac was concerned about rising drug prices worldwide in the Covid-19 pandemic and that it could not commit to funding the drug now - but still hoped to in the future.
Lung cancer patients and their advocates are devastated and said they had been given false hope. Keytruda is available in New Zealand but patients must fund it themselves. "So what we now have is 30 lung cancer patients continuing to die prematurely every week and you have to ask yourself, is that acceptable?" Fitt said funding a drug like Keytruda for lung cancer would have cost hundreds of millions over the next five years and Pharmac could not commit to that given the Covid-19 outbreak.
