Our own Chef Finn is from Denmark and spent his formative years working in Michelin star rated restaurants including working as Sous Chef for legendary Noma chef, Rene Redzepi.
This menu is inspired by Chef Finn’s Nordic heritage.
"We work with local high quality ingredients to combine good taste in food with contemporary culinary techniques,” says Chef Finn.

1. Tartare of Trevalli on Rye bread with pickled beetroot, sorrel and brown butter siphon.

To our amazement, it let us pick it up and take it home. Since then, it's been running around the house treating us like a companion. It handles a cage but it's so special that we're hoping to find it a home where adults/children will give it attention.
We cant keep it because our dog wants to hunt it.

The job ad appears to contravene the vaccine mandate for close contact workers in the hospitality industry. The Herald spoke to owner Brendan Pascoe before the ad was removed yesterday but he refused to comment. "I'm not commenting, you are all pushing the same mandate so I know what will be said and I'm not interested. No comment," he said. When asked about the legalities of employing unvaccinated staff and serving unvaccinated customers, Pascoe again refused to comment. But Paul Steiner, operations manager for the Lone Star franchise, said the restaurant brand "took the health and safety of its franchisees, their staff, and customers very seriously". "All franchisees are required by the terms of their franchise arrangements to comply with all relevant laws, legislation, and government requirements, including health requirements." A spokesperson from the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet said businesses covered by the My Vaccine Pass requirements need to ensure all workers are vaccinated. "If workers are not vaccinated at a hospitality business they cannot operate. "Vaccination in these sectors is an important tool for reducing infection and transmission." The countdown is on to December 3 when New Zealand moves to the traffic light system and restaurants, bars and cafes can open their doors to vaccinated patrons. Auckland, where the Lone Star restaurant is situated, will be at the Red phase where businesses can welcome up to 100 people based on 1m distancing with different groups of customers seated and separated. Vaccine passes must be viewed and verification is advised. If businesses do not comply with My Vaccine Pass requirements they can only offer contactless service. Events, restaurants, hairdressers and cafes that do not use vaccine certificates will not be allowed to open at all under the Red and Orange settings - except those that offer takeaway food. Epidemiologist Michael Baker said the Lone Star advertisement clearly went against the mandate for hospitality workers. "It's important to note customers going into any restaurant have an expectation that all the staff and other customers are vaccinated as mandated," he said. "To have an unvaccinated staff member in a role like that is a risk to others. Even with a mask, there is a risk, it is not eliminated." Chris Mole from the No Jab Jobs website said it wouldn't comment other than to say the Lone Star advertisement had since been removed. No other jobs advertised on the site are for jobs where vaccinations are mandated. On Tuesday, Workplace Relations and Safety Minister Michael Wood announced new Covid-19 vaccination requirements. Vaccination was soon to be mandatory for all workers at any business where vaccine passports were required for customers.

We were all very impressed with the quality of food, level of service, and friendly atmosphere of the Glen Eden RSA.
Try the Lamb Stew, and the Angus Burger if you are heading that way, plus they have a great "Surf n Turf" steak that was so popular, it had sold out by the time we got there.
Generous food portions abound, so much so that we left with two takeaway boxes of left-overs which the kids can have tomorrow :)
Lovely dessert options as well - we went for the Apple Sponge and Brownie, both with ice cream.

Why can't they spend the money on repairing the absolute shite roads that are full of holes, wear and tear from those heavy trucks going up down the roads that are involved in the construction of those God awful Lego /chicken boxes?
I read an article from the beginning of this year, that almost 700 speed bumps have been installed or planned for streets around Auckland in the last four years at a cost of up to $97 million - this point I remembered as I was floored by the excessive amount for something not wanted nor needed.
The ones in Glen Eden are neck jarring, chassis scrapping, ill thought-out slabs of concrete thrown on the roads at now (I think) 3-4 places along the main road with an incline/decline of ridiculous percentages.
What is happening now, is that motorists are choosing shortcuts through local streets to avoid theses speed bumps.
You have to feel for sorry those residents in those streets now.
The intersection of Railside Ave & Great North Rd (down by the mall) have got those SURPRISE mini humps - WTH???
Bruce McLaren Road is now getting speed bumps - argh!!!
Parrs Cross Road and Bruce McLaren Road intersection is also soon to have a bloody roundabout!!!! (See pic below)

We expressed our thoughts, our feelings and all of the pros (zero) and cons (endless) to their proposed plan; and yet they have got experts who probably don't live in this area and they in their infinite wisdom, have decided that the concerns of those who live here are null & void!!
Now, before anyone says, "it's all very well complaining, what solution do you have instead?"
My answer is, "Do what they have done very well in Ponsonby for example" - see pic below.
My solution will not only slow the boy racers down, but it will provide ample access for all vehicles, including emergency ones.
People in ambulances won't shot skywards when the ambulance has to go over repeated speed bumps.
Also, for the greenies, trees can be planted in the middle and/or sides of the road - a win win for all concerned.
But no, the powers that be, over a cup of expensive soy triple shot lattes with 3 ice cubes and a organic date scone have decided concrete and vehicle breaking, neck jarring bumps are the way to go !!
All this money being spent when they need to do is:
FIX THE DAMN ROADS!!!!
