The Sunday Star-Times wants to hear from children about how they've been impacted by Covid-19 and lockdown. Perhaps they've learned more about hand washing and germs, or maybe they want to talk about having mum or dad home more often, or learning from home. Kids can write a sentence or two to be included in print by emailing kelly.dennett@stuff.co.nz, by Friday, July 10, at 5pm. Their first names and ages may be used in print. Parents, if you're happy for your children to be photographed please let us know.

Hello everyone,

My name is Ashkan and I am a Ph.D. candidate at the School of Psychology, the University of Auckland (UOA).

My colleagues and I are conducting a brain imaging study on children with Auditory Processing Disorder (APD). In New Zealand, 6.2% of kids are diagnosed with APD, and our study will enable a greater understanding of the brain's functional mechanism in these children with the use of Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) technique.

In order to conduct the study, we are looking for children:

Between 9 and 13 years old
Have normal hearing abilities
or
Diagnosed with APD

The study will take place in one single session which includes 25 min MRI scan (without any task) and a hearing assessment (30 min) at Grafton campus, the UOA. We will reimburse you and your child's time to help you out with travel costs and also parking will be available for you.

We would appreciate your time and support in helping us to conduct our study. Please check out the link below if you are interested:

Business Branding

Your business needs to stand out and customers need to easily remember you. This is where business brand becomes vital.

A business brand can be seen as a representation of the business owner. Call it - a reflection of the owner’s values.

A brand is a gut instinct or intuition or an immediate feeling people have about a company product or service. It is what others think about your business.

Business Branding can be seen in a:

Website
Logo
Business Cards
Social Media
Apparel
Vehicle Signage

For customers to remember who you are its needs to be displayed consistent and repetitively.

A brand positions a business among its competitors. For smaller businesses, if done correctly, great branding can create an even playing field when competing with larger established organisations.

Arguably, all else being equal, if your brand is professional you could charge for your products and services in accordance with how good your brand looks. (Did we say - all else being equal)

If you want customers to engage with your business and keep them coming back, we can help!

We do Branding good. Real good!

Starting with logo design by selecting illustrations, fonts, photos, colours our graphic designer can create something unique to your business. We even give you unlimited design revisions until its right.

Currently adorning the ballroom at Alberton as part of the exhibition 'The Impossible Garden', are richly decorative artworks by Mt Eden artist Emma Bass - a celebration of colour and life-affirming natural abundance!

Inspired by 17th century Dutch and Flemish floral still lives and the joyousness of Matisse, they ‘explore beauty though a manipulated lens’. Bluring the boundaries between photography, painting and collage they beguile the viewer with their illusory, impossible perfection.

Join us for this Talk & Tea and all-round lovely afternoon with Emma on Saturday 1 August at 2pm! Emma will be joined by special guest - decorative arts curator, former director of Te Toi Uku: Crown Lynn Museum and ceramics aficionado, Finn McCahon Jones, who will chat about some of the vases in Emma’s collection, which are a major source of inspiration for her work in her signature 'floral portrait' photographs.

Tickets: $15. Includes tea & scones and house entry. Bookings recommended as places are limited. Email alberton@heritage.org.nz or phone 846 7367.
