I was really interested to read that researchers have found evidence that frequent meditation over several years may help alter the human gut – boosting the body’s immune system and reducing the risk of anxiety, depression and heart disease.

In a small study of Buddhist monks, researchers found deep meditation could help regulate the gut microbiome, and lower the risk of physical and mental ill health. The findings feature in the journal General Psychiatry, which is published by the British Medical Journal.

I was sworn at today by someone (who should have better language) after gently reminding them of this!

Sadly, I see too many dog owners not being responsible

This Antique Grandfather Chair used to grace the sitting room in my family home but has been unused for quite a while, and shows it.
It needs TLC from someone who loves restoring antiques/reupholstering.
The lovely ornate wood is rosewood, the buttoned back and arms have all their buttons, and all the pieces that have come off are there to go back on.
It's been in the family for over 80 years and was already old when purchased, so a genuine antique.

Many high schools report that vaping is a growing issue despite the 18+ legal smoking age and this has been associated with the proximity of schools to vaping retailers.

Recent amendments have been made to The Smokefree Environments and Regulated Products Amendment Act to limit nicotine in products and cease supply to those born in/after 2009. Less retailers are to be approved and product packaging made less appealing.

Until March 15, public submissions will accepted regarding these changes, especially around the location and quantity of retail stores as well as the appeal and addictiveness of smoked tobacco products.
