Recently, Labour MP Kiritapu Allan shared her story as she typically carried on working while she awaited news of her tests. Kiri and many other women like her, prioritised her health above work and accessed services early. Though gutted at the results, Kiri is a fighter and is readying for a battle. Recovery is still hopeful. We thank her for advocating for women to be screened regularly and to seek help early when women detect something is out of the ordinary. Look after yourselves whanau. Ngà mihi. From the Well Women & Family Trust – experts in women’s health and specialists in cervical screening’.

Chris fits in a shift each week as a Volunteer Support Worker on top of family and a successful career. She says the role has taught her to think on her feet and led to a huge amount of personal growth.
"I have a huge amount of gratitude for my life. And every now and then you get little bits of feedback, and you know you have really helped someone. That feels really good,” says Chris. “It’s a privilege to be able to do this."
During her time with Victim Support, Chris has helped hundreds of victims to find safety, healing, and justice. Follow the link to hear Chris’s story and learn how you too can support those who need it as a volunteer with Victim Support.
