Hi neighbours, Oscar-winning filmmaker and actor Taika Waititi is portraying “the voice of racism” in an initiative that aims to stamp out the problem in Aotearoa.
He has voiced racist comments – such as “go back to where you came from” – made to New Zealanders as part of the Human Rights Commission’s Give Nothing to Racism campaign, published by the commission on an interactive webpage. Poll: Do you think banning gang patches is reasonable?

With the government cracking down on gangs, it is now illegal for gang members to display their insignia in public places whether through clothing or their property.

This means arrests can be made if these patches are worn in places like restaurants, shops, on public transport or ferries, and on airplanes. Arrests were made recently at a funeral.
