Hi! I hope you've been having a great day,

I'm a CIE student at Macleans College going into year 13 next year.

From experience I know how difficult school can get, especially when you go into your senior years at college - it's always useful to get a head start in the holidays and much better to work consistently throughout the year.

I'd like to offer my availability to tutor in the upcoming school holidays and throughout next year in Biology, Chemistry, Physics (Science), Mathematics and English.

I don't have my external grades from 2020 yet, but from my end of year mock exams I achieved;
99 in A level Biology
97 in AS Physics
95 in AS Chemistry
92 in A level Mathematics.
For this I obtained the top grade in all my classes and top in the school for both Biology and Physics.

I achieved all A*'s in my IGCSEs (Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Combined Science and English Language) and A's in both AS Biology and Mathematics.

I have in depth notes for all subjects and techniques I've found to be beneficial. I believe understanding the content you're learning well, even though it may take more time is much better than pure rote learning and memorisation. By being able to get all your questions answered as they arise, you'll be able to create fuller pictures of concepts in your mind.

Prices can be negotiated and I'm able to do flexible hours :)

Thank you and I hope to hear from you!

Let's celebrate what we have achieved and forget everything for one more magical hour with non-stop hits & electronica from 80s, 90s, 00s & beyond. FREE ENTRY.

LAST SESSION!
Thursday 26 November 2020 at 8–9pm
All Saints' Community Centre
30 Cook St., Howick

Thank Yous!
Thank you to Howick Local Board for enabling Dance Yourself Happy via MECOSS (Manukau East Council of Social Services). And of course a huge thank you to MECOSS, especially Lindsay Upton, for all your support with DYH. I truly appreciate it, and so do all the happy dancers :)

We will be seeking funding to run a winter season of Dance Yourself Happy in 2021. To keep up-to-date about the progress, go to DYH on Facebook and 'Like' the page: www.facebook.com...

FAQ:

IS THIS 'DANCING IN THE DARK'?
The hall lights are turned off but this is not about dancing in complete blinding darkness. There is a wee disco light for a nice moody feel and to help you see where you're going.

WHAT KIND OF MUSIC CAN I EXPECT?
We’ll be dancing to electronic dance music with hits from 80s, 90s, 00s and today. Chart-toppers, floor-bangers, house, synthpop, techno, Euro-disco, dance-pop, mashups, some pop & rock, the occasional touch of latin, and much more for a groovy concoction. There won't be any ballroom, waltz, tango and that type of 'traditional' music.

IS THERE A CHOREOGRAPHY TO LEARN?
No, this is just one hour when you can dance however you like. There is no instructor and you don't need a dance partner. Feel free to bring friends along though!

WHAT SHOULD I WEAR & BRING?
Wear anything you feel comfortable in, be it jeans or trackpants, but no high heels please. And bring a water bottle. And a few friends if you like ;) Do not bring valuables, or keep them 'on' or beside you.

CAN I BRING MY KIDS ALONG?
Sure you can, but they have to be under your supervision at all times and they should be able to adhere to social distancing. Also worth noting is that a lot of care is taken to keep the music lyrics ‘clean', but there may be the odd unintentional missed word here or there, or mature themes.

DOES IT COST TO GET IN?
This event is FREE to attend – thanks to Howick Local Board and MECOSS, Manukau East Council of Social Services!

CAN I REQUEST A SONG?
Each session has been prerecorded and there is no DJ, so you cannot request a song on the night, but feel free to share your favourites on the DYH Facebook page (see address further below). You never know – there may be new playlists with yours on it!

COVID-19 CONSIDERATIONS
We encourage you to use the Covid-19 tracing app on arrival in addition to the usual headcount log. We also ask you to respect other dancers' social space. Government's COVID-19 advice may change from time to time, so do keep up-to-date by following public announcements.

Please note: due to the continuing unpredictable nature of the situation and the vast number of groups using the hall, the venue owner may take a more cautious approach without prior notice. We will of course try to get the word out immediately if any sessions are cancelled, but this may not always be possible if things happen quickly, and especially newspaper community notices may not be able to be retracted in time.

DID YOU KNOW?
• Dancing improves mood and destresses
• You can burn over 250 calories in one hour
• It doesn’t even feel like exercise!
• Dancing on a regular basis may reduce your risk of dementia by 76%*
