MetService advise that there will be a brief period of thunderstorms, heavy rain and localisted gusts after 10am. This is expected to pass by midday.
Vector are asking customers who remain without power or hot water after their street has been reconnected to get in touch with with them via phone or app as there may be localised faults on individual properties.
Leisure centres are open today for those affected by the outages who want a hot shower. You can also pop into libraries to charge your phone.

•Clean chimneys and flues before you light the first fire of the season.
•Always use a fireguard or spark-guard when using an open fire.
•Never throw rubbish into the fireplace – particularly batteries and aerosol cans.
•Always empty ashes and ashtrays into a metal bin and pour water over them before disposal. Remember that ashes can take up to 5 days to cool.
•Keep matches, lighters and anything else that can create fire out of reach of children.
