DHBs are funded to provide post-natal care, but instead they were sending … View moreThe Counties Manukau DHB has been criticised by funder Wright Family Foundation for its lack of engagement regarding the Nga Hau Māngere Birthing Centre, which has been forced to close for about two weeks over Christmas. DHBs are funded to provide post-natal care, but instead they were sending mothers home early without support, the Wright Family Foundation chief executive said.
The closure is expected to throw the birth plans of many women into disarray.
