Glyphosate. We just got sprayed again.

Karen from Totara Vale

No warning. As usual. These guys have to wear protective gear yet we have no chance to get the kids and the pets inside, shut our windows and know for how long we shouldn't eat anything out of our gardens.

No warning. As usual. These guys have to wear protective gear yet we have no chance to get the kids and the pets inside, shut our windows and know for how long we shouldn't eat anything out of our gardens.
It was windy today.
This was the walkway right by my house.
I asked the contractor what they were spraying and he said "Glyphosate. Your favourite". Clearly I've made a name for myself with the council and their contractors.
That young guy might have had his protective gear but he also had bare legs. He clearly doesn't understand how it crosses the skin barrier. Let's see how cocky he is in a couple of years.
Monsanto was sued for millions for the death of a contractor who died from lymphoma after exposure to this stuff. 3 of my dogs have died from lymphoma. I didn't know the council sprays 4 times a year in the park I ran my dogs.
Let's not forget too that while the councils can douse us in this chemical we can't get tested for exposure to it here in NZ. Or our pets.
Read this:
www.roundup-claim.com...
"In August 2018, a jury for the Superior Court of California ordered Monsanto to pay $289 million to Dewayne Johnson, a former school district groundskeeper, because of Roundup’s likely role in contributing to his cancer. As a result, the number of glyphosate lawsuits against Monsanto has ballooned to more than 8,700 cases."

Glyphosate Info FYI

Karen from Totara Vale

I've had a couple of people on here giving me stick for my post on glyphosate dangers and my worry that it could be why 3 of my dogs have died so young from lymphoma. It's a pity some people would rather attack than learn. So, FYI, from PubMed (link at the bottom):

I've had a couple of people on here giving me stick for my post on glyphosate dangers and my worry that it could be why 3 of my dogs have died so young from lymphoma. It's a pity some people would rather attack than learn. So, FYI, from PubMed (link at the bottom):

"Abstract
Glyphosate-based formulations (GBFs), such as Roundup, are the most heavily used herbicides in the world. In 2015, the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) concluded that glyphosate and GBFs are probably carcinogenic to humans (group 2A), mainly for non-Hodgkin lymphoma (NHL). However, this finding has been controversial, and most pesticide regulatory agencies have not followed their lead. The purpose of this review was to examine the scientific literature linking exposure to glyphosate and GBFs to the development of NHL, with emphasis on new findings since publication of the IARC report. The epidemiologic studies provide ample evidence for an association between exposure to GBFs and an increased risk of NHL. Animal studies have shown that glyphosate is carcinogenic in rodents and causes NHL in mice. Mechanistic studies have demonstrated that glyphosate and GBFs are genotoxic to human lymphocytes, the normal cell of origin of NHL, both in vitro and in vivo. Genotoxic and other biological effects have also been shown in various animal and cell models with these agents even at low doses. A novel mechanism underlying the specificity of glyphosate for NHL, that is upregulation of the B-cell genome mutator enzyme activation-induced cytidine deaminase, has recently been demonstrated. These findings were evaluated holistically using the guidelines for evaluation of general causation set forth by Bradford Hill. This evaluation provides coherent and compelling evidence that glyphosate and GBFs are a cause of NHL in humans exposed to these agents. These findings should prompt new reviews by pesticide regulatory agencies around the world."
