From its nectar honeybees produce a honey that is very thick like Manuka honey but with a distinctively different taste and health effects. Kanuka honey tastes rather earthy and is much less sweet than most honeys.
Kanuka honey has a green tint to it when seen in the honey frame (see picture!), but this disappears when the honey is extracted and potted.
Two Kanuka honey batches available:
• Waitakere Ranges Kanuka blend 500g. $12
• Far North Kanuka-Manuka blend (40+ mgo). $14
Potted honey is sold at a discount of 4+ pots, and these Kanuka honey pots are available in some of the combo packs sold by Don Buck Honey.
