Today marks the start of the Auckland Festival of Photography, with exhibitions being held at galleries around the region. Anyone with access to a camera, including phone cameras, has the opportunity to take part in the festival with the Nikon Auckland Photo Day competition. Just take a photo at any time on June 8 that showcases your slice of Auckland. The photo can be anything you want, including snaps of friends and family. All entries will be stored in a unique archive that currently has over 15,000 photos dating back to 2004. An exhibition of last year's top 30 entries is on display at the waterfront of Te Wero Island.
