Auckland-based charity The Mums' Clique is getting more than 100 requests per day for its essential items packs and Plunket has noted more babies are developing wounds from being left in nappies for long periods because their parents can’t afford to buy more.

Hi everyone, I’ve noticed a few comments on the page about power outages in our local area. I’ve received official comms from Vector regarding their on-going schedule of planned outages.
During the first lockdown in March/April, Vector postponed all but the absolutely critical works required for safety, supply or to support other essential services. Since then they have been working to deliver the postponed works.

Since the move to level 3, they again reviewed all their planned works and postponed or re-scoped a significant number. The remaining work Vector assessed to be so critical that they believed they could no delay- for safety or continuity of supply. They therefore have considered and/or applied the following during Alert Level 3:

- Moving works to weekends to minimise disruption to customers schooling and working from home during

- Moving works to outside social hours where possible - outside of 8am-10pm weekdays to minimise disruption

- Postponing works to beyond the 26th August where possible

- Re-scoping works and re-arranging outage times

- Cancelling capital works that are not urgent

- Using temporary generation to minimise daytime planned outage impacts whenever this is technically feasible.

For any updates on planned outages during Level 3, please visit the link provided.
