For the children who turn 5 over the summer, we take them for a visit to their school to see the office, playground, toilets and new entrant room. At Uplands, we value children's ability to join in with a large group, interact socially with others, their ability to communicate their wants and needs in words, be curious and enthusiastic, have good peer relationships, tackle and persist at challenging tasks, listen to instructions and be attentive. This sets them up for a successful transition to school.
