When we give children time to play in natural environments, we promote and value their freedom, independence and choice. Gill (2007) comments that children are disappearing from the outdoors at a rate that would be at the top of any list of endangered species. In research from Aoteoroa New Zealand, Kelly, White, Dekker, Donald, Hart, McKay, McMillan, Mitchell-King and Wright (2013) suggest that engagement with the outdoors is a basic component of our heritage, identity and culture.

But we are a bit short of funding an so have started a Give A Little campaign. Please consider donating what you can and share the page with any in your social media circles who would be interested in helping our efforts. The drawings on the signage and even the sign design itself have been donated by a local artists and graphic design student!
