Hi,

I don't know if this is well known but I thought I'd share it as I'm sure there are people there who don't use the books and if that is the case you can opt-out and generate less waste :)

Hope this helps someone!

Calling all foodies!

An exciting course is about to start. Hone your culinary skills and impress your friends.

ESSENTIALS PART ONE
Perfect your cooking skills in our professional kitchen through classic techniques and support from our chef over four weekday evenings.
Our hands-on, small classes will transform your skills and give you a wide variety of recipes you'll use again and again - from cooking lamb perfectly to working with seafood, these are the skills you've always wanted to have, taught in a fun and supportive environment.
Work with high quality ingredients and tools to make fabulous dishes to take home from each class.
We work on knife skills to give you more confidence with slicing and chopping.
We will learn about emulsions and curing as well as cookery techniques such as sautéing, roasting, braising, steaming and grilling.

As you progress through the cooking sessions, you will learn how to trim and perfectly cook different cuts of lamb; prepare shellfish to transform into different meals and much more.

The recipes are fast, classic and interesting and can be cooked at home for dinner or for that special dinner party.
Part One topics include:
Boning a chicken
Pan-seared beef sirloin
Fillet of tarakihi en papillote
Introduction to classic sauces
You will receive a workbook with recipes and explanations of techniques and cooking tips, NZSFW apron and a certificate on completion at the conclusion of the course.

ESSENTIALS PART TWO
Build further skills and fabulous dishes in this second four-week course. While this course can be taken without having completed Part One, practice in the kitchen is beneficial.
Part Two topics include:
Salt cured lamb
Sauteed garlic prawns
Braised pork belly
More sauces
Vegetable dishes

##You will receive a workbook with recipes and explanations of techniques and cooking tips, NZSFW apron and a certificate on completion at the conclusion of the course.

Walk in their shoes for a day; put on your gumboots and/or give a gold coin and help provide free counselling to any kid in need.

Last year in New Zealand 137 young people died by suicide and it is estimated another 3500 attempted to take their own lives. While Government agencies are doing their best some kids are stuck waiting up to six months to receive the counselling they so urgently need.  To tackle that barrier, 100% of all donations will go directly to the registered health professionals to tee up counselling quickly for kids.

Public Service Announcement:

Please read this information even if you do not have a business in Parnell as you may be affected as a commuter.

In order to install safety measures at 3 of the pedestrian crossings, Parnell Road will be a one way system for 2-3 weeks, commencing 13th April. Not only will this affect traffic moving up and down Parnell Road, but also the Link bus services, which will be diverted via Gladstone Road.

Pedestrian Crossings:

Auckland Transport (AT) is introducing Speed Tables across Central Auckland routes to help to slow traffic and keep our communities and pedestrians safe.

AT is planning to complete the construction of three Speed Tables on Parnell Road, along with Footpath and Tactile Paver works over the Easter period. The three works sites are outside 119 Parnell Road, 167 Parnell Road and 215 Parnell Road.

Civil Works will take place from Saturday 13th of April 2019 7:00AM, to Sunday the 28th of April 2019 5:00PM. (weather dependant)
From Saturday April the 13th 05:00AM to Monday the 29th of April 5:00AM Parnell Road will be reduced to one way southbound traffic (i.e traffic going up the hill). Northbound traffic (i.e.traffic going down the hill) will be detoured via St Stevens Ave, Gladstone Road, The Strand and Parnell Rise.

Access into and out of the following side streets off Parnell Road: Akaroa St, Windsor St, Ruskin St, Tilden St, Denby St, Gilbraltar Cres, Birdwood Cres, St Georges Bay Rd and St Stephens Ave will still be available, however, this will need to be in accordance with the southbound flow.

During this time, there will be a reduction in the amount of parking available along Parnell Road.

Access to all residences and businesses will be maintained at all times, however, traffic detours will be in place during this time.

The Link bus service will be diverted accordingly. Southbound buses (i.e traffic going up the hill) will continue as normal, but Northbound buses (i.e.traffic going down the hill) will be detoured via St Stevens Ave, Gladstone Road, Please make sure you know where your nearest stop will be.
