The line will be closed for passengers travelling between Britomart in the CBD and Ōtāhuhu in south Auckland from August 24 until September 7. The work, which is being carried out by KiwiRail, involves repairing and replacing 100km of worn tracks across the Auckland metro network.

I see Repco are selling Canteen bandanas for $5.10 each. They are 560 mm square so much better than a handkerchief. I have made a mask from a bandana - they end up at least 4 layers thick so they do work well but are breathable. You just need to find some medium size rubber bands in your house.
