The warmer season is only just beginning, but already SPCA centres are finding themselves inundated with hungry mouths.
These kittens have been abandoned, neglected, are desperately sick or very young. My team and others across the country are rapidly prepping everything we need to help kittens in need, but we can't do it without you.
Please, we need your help to care for them.
Currently, the numbers are in the 100s and continue to rise every day. Soon it'll be in the 1000s.
Our Christchurch Centre has more than 80 kittens in our care, our Wellington Centre around 70, and our Auckland Centre over 100.
They are not yet ready to be adopted so every kitten needs round-the-clock care, veterinary treatment and somewhere warm to snuggle and be monitored.

Do you celebrate Halloween at your house? Why or why not?
And If you don't like trick or treating, how do you make it clear your house is a no-go zone?
We're keen to talk to some people who feel strongly about Halloween one way or the other. If you have thoughts to share, please email homed@stuff.co.nz and we'll be in touch.

Ata Hira Museum on the Move: Voyage to Aotearoa, our pop-up museum, is a fun, interactive exhibition for kids that explores Tupaia’s life in Tahiti, on board the Endeavour and in his arrival to Aotearoa. Find out more here: www.aucklandmuseum.com...
We’ll also have Native Edible Gardens – Children’s Art Interactive, where kids can cut out their own edible/medicinal native flora from the selection of templates, puzzle them together, colour them in and add them to our Native Forest. There will be guest speakers at various times, offering talks plant taste tests. Find out more here: www.aucklandmuseum.com...
The Viaduct Harbour will be abuzz as the Tuia 250 waka flotilla arrives, with concerts, kai and plenty more happening. If you’re in Tāmaki Makaurau this weekend, make sure to come and check it out!
