NZ Sculpture OnShore was set to take place at Fort Takapuna in late October, after already being delayed by a year.
But a digital exhibition and fundraising campaign is set to go ahead in its place.
NZ Sculpture OnShore Dee Paranihi said with the current lockdown and uncertainty around alert levels, the risk of continuing with the live exhibition was too great.
“Having already postponed the event by a year due to COVID-19, this is a huge disappointment for our team and sad news I’m sure, to you, too,” she said.
“However, all is not lost! With many of the stunning sculptures completed, or close to it, we are now focussing on bringing you the artworks via other platforms and galvanising our supporter base to raise money for Woman’s Refuge.”
More details on the digital exhibition will be released soon.

It is part of a $24.3 billion transport package announced by Waka Kotahi NZ Transport Agency on Tuesday.

“Auckland is a world class city and it needs a world-class transport system that is safe and efficient to keep everyone moving as New Zealand’s largest city continues to grow,” he said.

Given that yesterdays retrieval was the second in two weeks, logic tells me that she will go exploring around Hauraki/Takapuna again, maybe even today. if you see her please message me Rick 0204-0203663 or email me at: richardgeary1954@live.com
I have attached some photos. It is safe to pick her up briefly - she will not strike out. Pick her up by approaching her from behind and use a praying mantis approach with your hands grasping each of her front feet and your forearms and elbows supporting her body length.

Around 50 to 60 homes have been evacuated and an emergency shelter has been set up at 6 Henderson Valley Road.
West Auckland has been hit the worst with flooding in Helensville, Kumeu, Henderson Valley and Rānui.
Firefighters received around 170 weather related calls overnight.
Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern said evacuation advice overrides Covid-19 restrictions.
Auckland’s two vaccination centres at the Trusts Arena and the Airport have been damaged and will not open until 11am.
SH16 through Kumeu is closed due to flooding between Matua Road and Riverhead Road, and Waka Kotahi has reports of fallen trees and slips across the wider network.
MetService said heavy rain is expected to continue throughout Tuesday.
Neighbourly spokesperson Sarah Moore encourages people to check in on their neighbours - especially if they’re elderly or alone.
“But ensure you're abiding by Level 4 rules consider emailing, texting or using Neighbourly to send a message. Even if they're doing well, the connection will mean a lot,” she said.
“When there's a break in the weather carefully head outside to check whether anything is blocking your drains or has come loose in a storm. Don't rush - things could be slippery. If you do notice damage make sure you take photos in case you need to lodge an insurance claim.”
