Kaipatiki Road - Changes to the one-way section from Thursday 28 September:
As part of the Kahika Wastewater Upgrade Project, contractors will be repairing two slips along the roadside that occurred during the storms earlier this year. CB Civil will replace a damaged section of stormwater pipe and construct a retaining wall for Auckland Council. At the same time Fulton Hogan will construct another retaining wall for Auckland Transport.
This work will take approximately 10 weeks and during this time, the one-way portion of Kaipatiki Road will change direction.
Also the one-way section will extend into Easton Park Parade, so no traffic will be able to go up Easton Park Parade from Kaipatiki Rd. See the attached map for how traffic will be affected from 28 September.
The next stage after this will be to go past the Stanley Rd/Kaipatiki Rd roundabout.

• Work hours are typically from 7:00am to 5:00pm on Monday to Friday with potential work on Saturdays.
• Vehicles will only be allowed to drive downhill on Easton Park Parade past the road closure. Uphill traffic will be detoured up Kaipatiki Road.
• Signage will indicate the work zones and any closed lanes/routes.

For property owners on Easton Park Parade:
• Every effort will be made to minimise noise and vibrations and ensure that they are within the permitted levels.
• Driveway access will be disrupted to some properties as the works proceed past them. Watercare will be in communication with affected properties before any work commences and arrange alternative parking.
• You will ALWAYS have pedestrian and wheel chair access to your property - only vehicle access is affected.

For more information on the project, see: www.watercare.co.nz...

Our client Michelle has a large front garden with several large exotic trees, and numerous smaller native trees. Michelle loves walking in the local bush, and dreamed of enjoying some of that ambience in her own large garden.

Once she learned it was possible, Michelle became keen to create a shady little bush-walk by converting the lawn and weedy borders of an unused part of her own large garden to a mostly-wild native plant community, solely by weeding, protecting the weeded ground from trampling and desiccation, and nurturing the wild native seedlings that would arise.

One day it may have wild pigeonwoods ...see our website for more about Michelle's garden, with photos of the pigeonwood seedlings found this week among the weeds.
