Finding the treasure hidden in Tradescantia
We love finding the treasures that hide in Tradescantia until their release, especially native ferns like this "Shaking brake" (Pteris tremula). The fern sporeling shown below is one of hundreds of native seedlings and sporelings that germinated under the low loose ground cover provided by Tradescantia, and was released not by us, but by the owner, who recognised the potential of a weedy area under native tree canopy.

Poll: Do you think banning gang patches is reasonable?
With the government cracking down on gangs, it is now illegal for gang members to display their insignia in public places whether through clothing or their property.
This means arrests can be made if these patches are worn in places like restaurants, shops, on public transport or ferries, and on airplanes. Arrests were made recently at a funeral.
