Earlier this year the Kaipātiki Local Board requested and funded markings for 14 pedestrian crossings near school entrances (excluding any with traffic lights or that were already scheduled to receive an upgrade).

The man was described as being European, possibly in his 60s, of a large build and possibly with a moustache. The vehicle's number plate was believed to have begun with KM.
