In 2017, a storm led to a landslip that wiped out part of the walkway that runs from behind Neptune Reserve to the beach at Sispara Place Reserve.
I've received many enquires from locals asking when it will be restored but now the Kaipātiki Local Board is being advised by council staff to permanently close the walkway (with an option for a lookout at the Neptune Reserve end). One reason given is that it must be a low-use track because council has only received an average of 1 enquiry per year about it!
If you'd like the track rebuilt, the Local Board needs to hear from you.

We want March to be all about celebrating the connections we have while making new ones along the way. As we all know, what makes a neighbourhood great isn’t the houses and cars, gardens and streets - it’s the people who share their presence and aroha with each other.
A wonderful way to take part is to participate in Neighbours Day Aotearoa which takes place from 27 March - 5 April. This year’s theme is ‘Small Things Make a Big Difference’ - we couldn’t agree more!
Let us know how you’re celebrating by email or tag us online and include the following hashtag:

Hello gardeners! We know there's more to your day than flowers and veges, and we're interested in your views on leisure, how you watch TV shows, movies and video content. This survey will take about 10 minutes of your time, and we would very much appreciate the feedback.
