We're back! keen to reconnect with residents new & existing, welcome new members, & discuss things City-Centric.

At our community hub - Ellen Melville Centre on Freyberg Place - All city centre residents welcome!

Agenda is HERE: bit.ly...

The meeting starts at 5.30 & then we have 2 guest speakers:

First up is about Tūrama Festival, www.turamafestival.co.nz... taking over much of Albert Park in October - looks impressive and these events can be great, but they can & do have impacts for residents so hear about the event, impacts on residents, & ask any questions.

And then we have a speaker from CRL regarding the Aotea Station ( www.cityraillink.co.nz... ) works - At 15m-deep & 300m long, this station (& CRL) will be fantastic for the city centre of course, but you can't deny that the construction has major impacts for residents, that have to be (well) planned & managed. Find out about what's in store for us over the next 4 years, and ask your questions

Drum roll....CCRG have set the date for our (city centre) famous General Election Forum - Tuesday 1 September, Pioneer Women’s Hall, Ellen Melville Centre, 6.00 – 8.00 p.m. Calendar this Now!

See you Monday, 5.30pm at Ellen Melville (Betty Wark Room)

For info on the where and how of our meetings see HERE: www.ccrg.org.nz...

Hi

I'm Dave and I am really hoping someone can help. I have a rental property in Ellerslie , nothing flash just 2 bdrm unit in block of 20 just by village shops. I have had the same tenant in the unit for coming on 10 years now . So Muriel moved into the unit while being 3 months pregnant. her son Roman arrived not long after . Muriel is a solo mum and is devoted to Roman. Muriel works just up the road as a teachers assistant and generally looks after any kids that have learning difficulties or have issues at home. she works hard but teachers pay doesn't make it easy for her. I have tried to help by only increasing rent once in the time she has been my tenant. But I was advised a year ago that the apartment block is leaky and work is starting soon. She will need to vacate from approx January 2021 for upto 6 months while the property is worked on. She really wants to come back once everything is complete which I am also very keen to happen but all the rentals i've seen are for 1 year fixed terms. Does anyone know of somewhere she can rent for around the 6 month term close to Ellerslie area?
Any help or advice would be fantastic. Just PM me here on neighbourly.

Michelle of Colour Our Story and Brian of Conscious Action are coming together for a Purposeful and Joyful Sunday afternoon filled with global connection, mindfulness and creativity.

Colour Our Story facilitates the creation of colouring-in books by children for children across the World. These books are designed to empower, inspire and create a real sense of connection and global citizenship through the magical and therapeutic powers of storytelling and creativity.

Conscious Action facilitates spaces to raise awareness and inspire meaningful action on topics that range from sustainability to wellbeing and everything related to conscious living.

Once again Colour Our Story has a beautiful collection of drawings and stories, this time collected from children in Bali and Aotearoa. And you will get to view them first before they go into our special colouring in books with stories.

In addition you will get to enjoy the creative therapy of tracing the children's drawings, which is part of our creative bookmaking process, while soaking in some mindfulness moments with Brian as well as some delicious nibbles, mulled wine, non alcoholic drinks, relaxing music and of course the beautiful company of each other as you get to know the children through their artworks.
