I read Vodophone NZ is going to change its name to Vodophone Aotearoa & both Spark & 2 degree were going to also.I thought we lived in NZ BOTH vdophone & 2degree are NOT NZ owned are we following America & being PC.I,m 39% Maori so Im NOT racist but I am a proud NZealander & … View moreI read Vodophone NZ is going to change its name to Vodophone Aotearoa & both Spark & 2 degree were going to also.I thought we lived in NZ BOTH vdophone & 2degree are NOT NZ owned are we following America & being PC.I,m 39% Maori so Im NOT racist but I am a proud NZealander & DONT like the way NZ is NOW divided.Im 74,grew up in Gisborne then both us & pakeha played together,went out & did things together ETC now I hear whites run down blamed for things 200 years ago.I did my research it was hard to find but I read settlers letters from how things were 200 years ago,sure alot of bad things happened but it was sometimes us maori which we arent told about that commited horrible things,READ settlers stories pewople THEY WERE THERE.If you just google you,ll get bulls... & PC ONLY.If I told someone something & they repeated it to several others it would be so exaggerated & I believe NOW those PC protesters NEED to tell us "would they give up their mobile ph or Ipad(they are euopean)car or home (they are european) clothes,sheets & matresses(they are european)cutlery,crockery(again european)ALL these OUR ancestors NEVER had,most have had a Univercity education & now say pakeha has taken this & caused that.Alot of my cousins live in HUNTLY & that area (Waikato) got a huge treaty money payout-where is it because ordinary maori have NEVER got a penny or help,Tainui iwi is worth $50 BILLION but have they ever helped maori health,in winter children who go to school with no raincoats or shoes,NO they get the tax payers money.I,m a 39% maori-I had a blood test & have my ancestry done & I am a New Zealander can any of the head protesters show us a blood test & ancester paper to prove just who they are & DONT forget to ask them what they will give up as they keep telling us whites are bad.I thought we were supposed to never forget the past but live in the future it seems alot want to live in things that happened over 200 years ago.DONT bother abusing me I know you DONT like hearing any-ones opinion thats not yours just let the past die but NEVER forget & live in the 20th century & STOP dividing NZ

Email photos and a 200-word or more description of your space to yhg@bauermedia.co.nz with your last name and ‘Resene Colour Home’ in the subject line. Please include your name, home address, email address, daytime phone number, the names of the Resene colours used, and details of when your space was painted. Please credit anyone who assisted you in choosing your colours. The five finalists will each appear in Your Home and Garden, starting from the December issue. Every finalist will receive a $250 Resene voucher and a feature in the magazine, with the winner taking out the Resene Colour Home Awards and $5000 cash. An extended story on the winning home will feature in the June 2021 issue.

The person elected will be the voice for your region in Parliament. If you’re having trouble getting entitlements or dealing with Government departments, they can help. If your community needs funding for certain projects or activities, or there isn’t enough healthcare in the area, the elected MP can step in and help.

For the first time, Vector Lights on Auckland Harbour Bridge and the Queen Street Lights will be lighting up pink for Breast Cancer Awareness Month this October, in support of Breast Cancer Foundation NZ’s (BCFNZ) annual Pink Ribbon Street Appeal.
Vector Lights and Queen Street Lights will be … View moreFor the first time, Vector Lights on Auckland Harbour Bridge and the Queen Street Lights will be lighting up pink for Breast Cancer Awareness Month this October, in support of Breast Cancer Foundation NZ’s (BCFNZ) annual Pink Ribbon Street Appeal.
Vector Lights and Queen Street Lights will be joining Sky Tower in Auckland, along with dozens of other landmarks around the country, to take part in the Global Illuminations campaign – which sees landmarks and sculptures in 140 countries bathed in pink to promote global awareness of breast cancer.
The Sky Tower has been a long-standing partner of the campaign, taking part every year since it launched in 2000.
Each year, around 1,000 women are diagnosed with breast cancer in Auckland, and sadly 174 will die of breast cancer in the region annually.
Councillor Alf Filipaina said it is an important mahi (work) to support.
“Māori and Pasifika women are at greater risk of dying from breast cancer than any other ethnicity. As the largest Polynesian city in the world it is important for us to champion the kaupapa (purpose) around breast cancer awareness,” he said.
“That’s why I’m delighted that Vector Lights, our smart energy showcase for Auckland, will be joining other global landmarks in lighting up pink to support the great mahi the Breast Cancer Foundation do. If more women go and get screened as a result of seeing the Harbour Bridge lit up pink, then that is a great result.”
The campaign runs for the entire month of October and ends with BCFNZ’s major fundraising event, Pink Ribbon Street Appeal on 30 and 31 October.
Sky Tower will be in pink from 1 to 4 October, Queen Street Lights joins in 1 to 9 October, and Vector Lights will be pink from 12 to 18 October.
Money raised through the appeal will fund research into new targeted treatments, life-saving awareness initiatives, education programmes, and support for New Zealanders going through breast cancer.
