The chain was subject to 26 complaints to the Ministry of Education in two years, including allegations of abuse and neglect and insufficient supervision.

But Discoveries says the organisation was "committed to [ensuring] the safety and wellbeing of all children that attend its centres".  Read the full story below.

A group has been set up to help people find running buddies following four random attacks on women in Auckland while they were exercising.
Facebook group 'Running Mate' was set up on Tuesday afternoon with the intention of getting people to exercise together, as a safety-in-numbers initiative.
It comes as police warned four attacks on women who were running or walking alone in the North Shore and West Auckland area may have been linked.
By Friday, it had 341 members, with posts from people all over Auckland keen to find people to go running with.

Lime and Wave e-scooters to be withdrawn from Auckland streets

Auckland Council has ordered Lime and Wave e-scooters be removed from the streets by December 6.
E-scooter operators Beam, Flamingo, Jump and Neuron have been successful gaining licences for the next six months, and will collectively be allowed 3200 e-scooters on the streets from December 3.

E-scooter operators Beam, Flamingo, Jump and Neuron have been successful gaining licences for the next six months, and will collectively be allowed 3200 e-scooters on the streets from December 3.
The e-scooters have self-braking abilities when going down hills and would not operate between 1am and 6am.
