My wife and I are in a bit of a dilemma regarding our 11 year old cat whom we have had since she was a kitten. We have to go overseas for several months and need to find a good home for her.
She is quite a timid cat and does not normally feel comfortable being picked up but does always hang around the house and is good company, and occasionally jump onto your lap when she wants to.
If anyone can help or give advise would be greatly appreciated as we are getting desperate to find somewhere suitable to place her.

PS sorry, tried attaching a photo but could not do it :(

Auckland Council wants rubbish pile gone

Auckland Council is seeking court orders for the removal of a huge North Shore rubbish pile, which can be seen from satellite.

The rubbish on a property on Marlborough Ave, near Glenfield Mall, is understood to have grown over the past four to five years, including onto neighbours’ properties.

The pile is made up of general household waste, including full rubbish bags, food and drink packaging, suitcases, broken electronics such as televisions and monitors, clothing, children’s toys, and bedding.

Auckland Council has already been forced to act on the rubbish, when it overflowed into the Downing St Reserve, which the property backs onto.

The rubbish has also piled up onto Mulberry Place resident Courtney Newbold’s property, which she rents from her father.

She said it was sad to see the rubbish pile up on their family home, and believed it would cost them thousands of dollars to remove.

Hi Neighbours! 👋
My name is Maggie and I started a small charity - The Sharing Hope Project (sharinghopeproject.com)that aims to bring hope to vulnerable communities by encouraging acts of kindness! 💛
We run several drives a year - starting out with a focus on children as they go back to school!
Now, we are looking for breakfasts - canned fruits, porridge, UHT milk, cereals and canned beans, canned spaghetti.
We're all about a stronger, tangible and transparent way of charity. All proceeds to a community house that we work with in South Auckland, supplying food parcels to families.
Message me if you can help, I'd love to hear from you!

The Team from Auckland Council

It is safe to dispose of your RATs* and single use masks in your general rubbish bin, but not in your recycling bin.
*For RATs: as per test instructions place swab, tube and test device into the bag and seal it tightly before throwing it away.

Works are to begin from 1 March 2022 through to May 2022.

➡️Replacement of the main module
➡️Replacement of baby/toddler swing set
➡️Installation of the sea saw with backrests (backrest not shown on image)
