While it's relatively new the number of members are growing fast and so are the exchanges on offer. New learning sessions are out now (attached) and offer a variety of topics from cyber security, personal development, mortgages, arts and crafts, Maori pronunciation, and even, astronomy. An enjoyable experience to be had by all.
If you're new to the concept -
Timebanking is a way of exchanging skills and services in a community. Instead of dollars, time credits are used as payment. You earn time credits for the services (sewing/repairs, music lessons, food, crafts, dog walking, companionship, how-to, gardening, general help and more) you provide and then use the credits to 'buy' another member's time to get the services (as above) you need, or in my case, an extra set of hands to complete a task.
To see what's on offer visit www.mctimebank.nz... or Facebook under the same name. Great way to help, get help and meet some amazing people. Hope to see you there.

While retirement is typically a happy, relaxing time of life, Age Concern says it can be very difficult for some as they experience a sense of loss, self worth and a lack of purpose.
We understand this is a sensitive topic, but we want to chat with a retiree who has initially struggled with retirement and may have felt these, or similar emotions.
If you're happy to share your experience please contact reporter Laura Baker by phone 03 943 2837 or email laura.baker@fairfaxmedia.co.nz

We weave culture into everyday and find opportunities to make the most of any educational opportunity. We have a kindergarten in most neighbourhoods, so there's likely to be one near you. Visit our website to find a kindy or for more information, to put your name on the wait-list or enrol.
