In my experience, most issues involve miscommunication, lack of adequate supervision, or lawyers taking on too much work.

Client care and service information
Whatever legal services your lawyer is providing, he or she must—
* act competently, in a timely way, and in accordance with instructions received and arrangements made:

* charge you a fee that is fair and reasonable and let you know how and when you will be billed:
* give you clear information and advice:
* protect your privacy and ensure appropriate confidentiality:
* treat you fairly, respectfully, and without discrimination:
* keep you informed about the work being done and advise you when it is completed:
* let you know how to make a complaint and deal with any complaint promptly and fairly.

We are offering a new probate service to executors of wills. This is when executors need to apply to the High Court for a grant of probate, for authority to administer the will.

You provide information by email and online questionnaires, we prepare the documents and courier them to you with full instructions for getting them signed and sending them to the High Court.

We charge $300 including GST, and you also have to pay the High Court filing fee of $200.

As far as we know, other providers (solicitors, Public Trust, etc) charge at least $750 PLUS GST, not counting the High Court fee.

We are offering a special rate till the end of July, while we test our new processes - there may be some glitches and hiccups - but we guarantee the documents (a) will be acceptable to the High Court; and (b) will be prepared within 3 business days of receiving the information we request from you.

No pressure! You may like to donate hundreds of dollars to your favourite family solicitor, especially if they are already holding the will. However, we'd like you to know you have a choice. If you use our service to obtain the grant of probate, you can still use the solicitor for full advice about interpreting the will, any disputes, and the rest of the estate administration.

Please see our website for more details - www.kiwilaw.co.nz.... Thanks for reading.
