The Hearing House is a charity that aims to give deaf children with cochlear implants or hearing aids the ability to fulfill their potential and live an independent life in a hearing and speaking world. The Hearing House also has a preschool on site and is a unique centre that caters to hearing children from the local community and children with a hearing loss who are on The Hearing House Programme.We take a holistic play-based teaching approach, promoting listening and spoken language in a nurturing home-like environment, with a focus on developing independence and language skills. The Hearing House serves the needs of hundreds of hearing impaired children and their families from Kaitaia to Turangi through services like auditory-verbal therapy.
