Island Bay Community Centre is the local Community hub for the Island Bay area, run by Wellington City Libraries and Community Spaces. The Centre is open Monday to Friday 10am - 4pm and available for hire and use 7 days a week from 7am - 10.30pm. A wide range of classes and groups meet at the community centre including – Baby Rock & Rhyme, dance, crafts, seniors' social and exercise groups, support groups, our local toy library, free monthly movies, scrabble, drama, tai chi, yoga, and Pilates. Many of the activities are free or low cost and cover a wide age range from babies to seniors. Island Bay Community Centre is a sunny, comfortable spot for parties, meetings and classes. With many regular programmes and availability for casual bookings, it also acts as a hub for local information and community networks.
