They say it takes a village to raise a child. At Helping Families, we’re at the heart of that village. After seeing a real need for clothing for children uplifted from their homes and placed into care with nothing, we came up with the idea for Helping Families: a way to support local families with some of the essentials required for raising small humans, so they can thrive and reach their full potential. We believe no family should struggle alone. In Nelson/Tasman, we’re fortunate to have a community that pulls together together to help those in need. Helping Families taps into that strong community spirit by organising donations of clothing, bedding and household goods for those who need it. We work directly with the people who need us, as well as community organisations and other charities working on the ground.
