Big Brothers Big Sisters began over 100 years ago and has grown into the most widely established and reputable mentoring organisation in the world.
Here in New Zealand the organisation has grown consistently over the last 10 years to the point where it is now the largest youth mentoring programme in country and the sixth largest Big Brothers Big Sisters country operation in the world. Each year, in 15 locations, over 900 young people of New Zealand’s most vulnerable children and young people aged between 6 and 18 years benefit from the support of a carefully screened and trained Big Brother or Big Sister mentor.
And we’ve only just started. There is a very real need for us to expand our organisation in order to provide mentors for the hundreds of children on our waiting lists. Our goal is to provide this vital programme wherever there is a need and for all children who need the support of a mentor.
Imagine if every child in New Zealand fulfilled his or her potential.
So, whether you volunteer, donate or participate with Big Brothers Big Sisters, you will change lives and enable young people to reach their potential.
