Police request information following shooting

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

Police are investigating after a firearms incident in Point England, Auckland early Wednesday morning (13 December).

What you need to know:
- At around 1.10am, Police were notified that gunshots had been heard at an address in Holland Avenue.
- Police attended and found several shattered windows at the property, and residents at the address said they’d heard a number of gunshots.
- Police are seeking information from anyone who may have witnessed the incident or any suspicious activity in Holland Avenue in the early hours of this morning.

Detective Senior Sergeant Scott Armstrong says Police located spent shell casings in the driveway. “We are speaking to those affected and providing support, including to two school-age children who were sleeping in a bedroom when its windows were struck. Thankfully, no one was seriously injured, but the residents are understandably shaken by the incident.

“One person suffered a minor injury from a shard of broken glass, and it was only a matter of luck that someone wasn’t seriously injured by this reckless act,” Detective Senior Sergeant Armstrong says.

If anyone knows who is responsible or has any information, please contact Police on 105, quoting file number 231213/3889.
Information can also be provided anonymously via Crime Stoppers on 0800 555 111.
